What careers exist in the areas of my academic strengths?

I am interested in English. I went to this website and found that the careers that most interested me in the list were journalism & law.

I went to this and this website to see if law school was really for me. I found that it seemed interesting, although the high competitiveness and difficulty to find a job was a bit frustrating for me.

In conclusion, I found that many careers exist in my area of academic strength. I found that my area of interest, English, has many areas that I can develop in, careers in media, teaching, information, and in the public sector. I found that my two areas of interest were journalism and law. I found out that law is something very interesting, but is not for everyone because of its long hours and tedious work. I want to research journalism the next time.

My question is "What could I do to become a successful lawyer?"

Proxies

I think proxies are some kind of barrier between your computer and the internet connection.

I'm not sure how exactly proxies work, or why someone would use them.

I learned what a proxy is

  • A proxy is a computer that offers a computer network service to allow clients to make indirect network connections to other network service

I learned that there are different types of proxies, including:

  • Transparent Proxy

This type of proxy server lets itself be known as a proxy server, and makes the original IP address available through the http headers. This type of proxy is known for its ability to cache websites, as opposed to providing anonymity for its users.

  • Anonymous Proxy

This type of proxy server identifies itself as a proxy server, but does not make the original IP address available. This type of proxy server is detectable, but still provides anonymity for its users

  • Distorting Proxy

This type of proxy server identifies itself as a proxy server, but make an incorrect original IP address available through the http headers.

  • High Anonymity Proxy

This type of proxy server does not identify itself as a proxy server and does not make available the original IP address.

My research on what a proxy was made it apparent that I didn't know what a cache was, and it seemed important to know what this was to further my research on proxies.

  • I found out that a cache is a piece of memory to open up things without having to download them again, instead making the computer "remember" how it was.

This relates to my life because where I used to live the company had a proxy on all the internet in our compound, but I wasn't exactly sure what it was, until now.

I still don't understand how the IP address address part of it works, mostly because I'm not sure what an IP address is.

Google Day I

Three goals:

1. Learn and define what a YTP is and how to make one
2. Know how we will be able to make it (what programs, what types of edits we will make, etc.)
3. Find out more about video editing

Instructions to how to make one

Shows how to make a YTP.

Video editing software

Gives reviews of different video editing software and how to use it.

Note: We will probably change the focus of the project to something different for next time. We hope, next time we work on the project, to find out techniques of video editing.

Google 20%

Video editing is the skill that we want to learn. Making a professional and good video is one of our goals. We want to learn what different programs there are, what their strenghts and weaknesses are, and which ones are appropriate for each type of project. Also, we want to learn what other websites there are to post videos besides YouTube and how these videos can make new ideas and make newer types of subjects. These are the things that we want to learn in the Google 20% project and make sure that we cover in our final project.

We will apply what we learned in a video in class which shows exactly how to do these things. Also, we will try to differentiate, in this video, the best types of videoediting software/programs. We will cover different video websites and give their strengths and weaknesses, including the popular video website YouTube. We will post the video up to the website which we find the most appropriate to the subject matter of our videos. These are the things that we will do to demonstrate our learning and also to show that we truly have gained knowledge over video-making on the internet.
